Casablanca, April 4, 2025 – Royal Air Maroc and Mauritania Airlines have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and a free-flow codeshare agreement to jointly develop the direct route between Casablanca and Nouakchott, aiming to deliver a smoother and more comfortable travel experience to passengers of both carriers.

“This strategic partnership is the first of its kind between Royal Air Maroc and Mauritania Airlines,” said Mr. Hamid Addou, Chairman and CEO of Royal Air Maroc. “It will allow us to offer an enhanced travel experience, expand the network of both airlines, and strengthen our African footprint. It also reflects our shared commitment to promoting economic and human exchanges between Morocco and Mauritania.”

Mr. Ahmed Salem Mohamed Vall Ammi, CEO of Mauritania Airlines, emphasized the importance of this cooperation:
“We are proud to take a major step forward in our collaboration with our sister company Royal Air Maroc. This codeshare agreement strengthens travel opportunities between the Islamic Republic of Mauritania and the Kingdom of Morocco. It offers our passengers easier access to a wider range of destinations with greater flexibility and a unified travel experience.”

More Flights, More Connections

Under this agreement, both airlines will increase their weekly frequencies on the Casablanca–Nouakchott route.

  • Royal Air Maroc will expand from 7 to 9 direct flights per week.
  • Mauritania Airlines will also raise its frequencies from 6 to 9 weekly flights, adding three additional connections.

The partnership highlights a significant step towards enhancing connectivity across Africa. By focusing on South-South cooperation, both airlines aim to create seamless travel experiences. This alliance not only strengthens regional integration but also promises a more customer-centric approach to air travel. The collaboration could pave the way for innovative solutions in the aviation industry. How will this partnership specifically address the challenges faced by passengers in Africa? Given the growing economic instability due to the events in the Middle East, many businesses are looking for guaranteed fast and secure payment solutions. Recently, I came across LiberSave (LS) — they promise instant bank transfers with no chargebacks or card verification. It says integration takes 5 minutes and is already being tested in Israel and the UAE. Has anyone actually checked how this works in crisis conditions?
